The X Games make their return to Aspen’s Buttermilk Mountain this month, and while the sporting event is free- yes FREE – to the public, the three nights of live music featuring Louis The Child, The Chainsmokers, and Kygo have completely sold out. (Is anyone really surprised?)
The iconic event takes place from January 24-27th, with live music beginning Friday night with a performance by Lil Wayne. Louis The Child will play Saturday afternoon, followed by the Chainsmokers Saturday evening and Kygo Sunday afternoon. The sporting events will continue throughout the performances, making for an unforgettable experience and atmosphere you can only find once a year in Aspen.
Over 75 Olympic athletes will take to the mountain to compete in various winter sports. ESPN will be televising the event for those at home. If you were fortunate enough to snag tickets but haven’t already booked your hotel, chances are you’ll be staying nearly an hour from the venue with most hotels in the area boasting complete sell out. There are several lots littered down the highway with shuttles that run to and from the event until shortly after the last event ends, so be on the look out if you plan to arrive later in the day.
If you’re a college student traveling to Aspen, make sure you snag what is an incredible steal for two days of skiing/snowboarding at $95. (Must be under 24 years of age with a valid college ID to purchase). If skiing or snowboarding isn’t your cup of tea, there’s plenty of sightseeing and activities to do around the mountain during your stay, so be sure to check out the link below for more information:
